Twin Disasters Chapter 14 Part 1
Back***************With Joe, Lily, and the guys*************** Lily ran over to the cooler, where the water bottles were. She pulled one out and chugged it. Dougie came up to her and smiled "Good game. You really are better then all of us." Lily shrugged and smiled "I told you. I played soccer back home. I guess I was pretty good." Dougie took a water bottle "Pretty good? You out ran us all and you scored seven goals! You weren't pretty good. You were amazing." Lily sat down "I am amazing, aren't I?" She said with a smile. Dougie sat down next to her "Don't tell the guys I told you this but, no matter what they say about you, they actually think you're a really good soccer player......and they think you're pretty cute, too." Lily looked over at the guys in the middle of the field. They were still playing. Lily loooked at Dougie "Even Joe?" Dougie shrugged "I haven't heard anything from Joe." Lily started to play with the grass "Do you think he thinks that too?" Dougie looked at her "What that you're pretty? I'm sure he does. Why?" Lily shrugged "It's stupid. Just forget I mentioned it." Dougie lifted her chin with his hand "Nothing is ever stupid." Lily blushed. They were only two or three inches apart "I kinda have a crush on Joseph. And that's stupid no matter what you say, because I've only known him for a couple of days." He shook his head and leaned back on his hands "You can like someone within a couple of days of meeting them. Hell, you can even like someone within the first five minutes of meeting them. It's called love at first sight, love." Lily shook her head "This is different. I like him but he doesn't like me back. I know that for a fact." Dougie looked at her "How do you know that?" Lily looked him in the eyes. He had the prettiest eyes ever. They were a pool of icy blue and she couldn't stop looking at them. She sighed "He invited me to go play soccer with his friends. Please tell me how that's a sign of liking me?" Dougie smiled "That's very true, but you want to know what I think?" "What do you think, O Mighty Dougie?" He leaned in and whispered into her ear "I think he's missing out on a great person if he doesn't like you." Lily smiled "You're really sweet." Dougie shrugged "Yea, my sweet side surfaces every once in awhile." He smiled. "I woul-" Lily didn't get to finish. "Hey, what are you guys talking about?" Joe said, with the rest of the guys behind him. Dougie shrugged "I was just about to ask Lily if she was going to try out for the soccer team over at VAD." He looked at Lily "Are you?" Lily looked at Joe "Should I?" Joe shrugged "If you want to. I mean, you are really good. You'd definitely help out the team." Lily smiled "Yea, I guess I'lll do it." Danny looked around "So who's up for some rugby!?" The guys cheered, but Dougie didn't "Hey, guys. Why don't we just go 'round my place and watch a movie, maybe go in the pool?" "Aww...come on, let's play!" Joe said. Lily looked at him and pouted "Pwease, Jwoe." Joe looked behind him so that he wouldn't face Lily "Lily don't do that! You know I always give into to that!" He looked at her "....fine." Lily jumped up and hugged him "Hahah...Yay. That alw-EWWW! You're all sweaty!" Lily screamed and ran and hid behind Dougie. Dougie smiled "So I guess you're going to go back to your house and get your swimsuits?" He asked. Chris grinned "Or she can take off her shirt and shorts." All the guys cheered except Dougie and Joe. Joe got mad "Yo! Knock it off. Me and Lily are going to get out bathingsuits. We'll meet you all at Dougie's in fifteen minutes." He took Lily's hand and walked off. Lily got in the car "Joe? Are you okay?" Joe leaned his head on the steering wheel. "No." He said in a flat tone. "Why?" "They can't disrespect you like that! I don't even know why I hang out with them!" "Joe. It was a joke. They were just messing around. Chill out." "I don't want you to get hurt." "Nobody's hurting me." Joe turned on the car and pulled out of the parking lot. They went the whole ride in silence. ***************Joe's P.O.V*************** I don't want them talking to her like that! She isn't just some chick they can say whatever they want to. She's my friend....my best friend. She's had such an impact on my life. She's changed so many things in just two days. She's so familiar. I feel like I know her from somewhere. For some reason, I can't stand to watch her get hurt. Nobody's going to hurt her. I will personally kill them if they do. I looked at her. She was playing with her hands. "Lily, I'm sorry." She looked up at me "For what?" I shrugged "For blowing up on you." Lily smiled "It's okay. Plus, that's nothing compared to what Zoey would normally consider 'blowing up'." It was good to see her smile again "What would Zoey consider 'blowing up'?"
