Tracking through the Himalayas
BackTracking was aimed at developing a sense of camaraderie among the members of the group, including exposing us to the rigors and hardships of rural life in the far-flung areas in the Himalayas. It was a terrific experience! The snow-capped peaks, barren hill-tops and meadows beyond tree-line, chilling cold, puffing and fainting while negotiating the narrow, rocky, rugged terrain with deep gorges on both sides of the tracks, drinks in groups during night times, and so many more were just amazing!!!!!!!! We started from our Academy in the wee hours of 27th September for Bhatwari which was our group's Base camp for next two days. Next day, we visited the famous 'gangotri'. The next halt was at Bellack, a Gujjar hamlet, followed by one-night at Guttu, Panwali, Gaurikund, Kedarnath and finally at Rudraprayag before returning to the Academy on 5th October at 2.00 pm.
