2.1
BackMovie 2.1: This movie should show an ob ject flying across the screen, much like a bas- ketball, baseball or cannon ball would be seen flying through the air (this is called pro jectile motion). Your Povray code should clearly show how an ob ject is given a particular initial speed, v0 , pointed at some initial angle, θ0 , with respect to the +x- axis, both of which can easily be changed in order to render a different movie (showing how the flight of your ob ject would change with the new v0 and θ0 ). All told, this are the launch conditions for your particle. The pro jectile should also be given an initial vertical height, y0 , and initial horizontal position x0 . The movie should end right about the time your ob ject hits the ground again. It would be nice if your launch and landing positions were not at the same vertical level. Lastly, using the #draw vector macro given by your instructor, attach a and v vectors to your ob ject (different colors for each) so it is clearly illustrated how v and a evolve on your ob ject from frame to frame. Also, show the vx and vy vectors on your ob ject as well. Al l told, your object should have 4 arrows sticking out of it as it flies. Getting the vectors right is a hard step, but an excellent test of your understanding of two-dimensional vectors, and how v evolves in time for pro jectile motion.
